Randle Resigns
29th July 2002
Peter Randle has resigned as Chairman of Bedworth United Football Club, BUFC--Online can exclusivly reveal.
After 6 years at the helm Randle believes his Job is done and wants to let someone else take charge of the Warwickshire club
He will remain on the board of directors, and will remain as Acting Chairman until a new Chairman is announced.
Speaking to BUFC--Online Randle said "After 6 years I think I have done enough, and want to end on a high. Its been a long, hard 6 years trying to save this football club, but we managed it and now its time to move forward again.
The new chairman will be elected by our members but until then I will remain as acting Chairman, once a new chairman has been elected I will step down and stay on as a Director.
Bedworth United FC would like to announce that this is nothing to do with Leisure Leagues in fact we can say that Leisure Leagues have not been in any contact with the club for 3 months, Randle continues "Leisure Leagues you can forget about. I arranged a meeting with David Leone 3 months ago, and i have stil heard nothing. We never had any intentions of leting him have this football club. Our Directors have done too much to let it all go to some-one we don't know.
"We have a good season ahead of us, and I want to enjoy it more and the stress of Chairman removed from me will help me do so. This is a special club, and no-one would want to leave it. I'm simply letting another Director have the final say in this clubs matter's. We all need fresh idea's, and this could help us.
